The Badsworth is polished to look like it belongs to another era. It has a tall, upright body, a long bonnet, a folding rear roof and the two-tone finish of a car from between the wars, and it looks at home outside an old church or country house.

What Sets the Badsworth Apart

Our landaulettes share the folding roof but not the feel. The Badsworth leans furthest towards the vintage end, with its upright windscreen, slim wheels and traditional lamps. It feels more like a car from an old film than a modern wedding car dressed up in ribbon.

Like our other landaulettes, it has a folding rear roof, so you can arrive in the open air on a fine day or stay covered when the weather turns.

Country Houses, Barns and Village Greens

The Badsworth suits settings with age and texture: stone churches, brick manor houses, timber barns and village greens. Against that kind of backdrop, the paintwork and chrome look warm rather than flashy.

1920s, 1930s and Heritage-Style Weddings

Couples planning a period wedding often start with the car, because it sets the tone for everything else. A 1930s dress, a hat with a veil, a buttonhole and a Badsworth at the door make a very complete picture.

If you’re hosting a themed day, tell us the look you’re after. We can suggest timings that leave space for staged photographs, and your chauffeur can wear a suit or cap that suits the day.

Photographing a Two-Tone Vintage Car

A two-tone finish gives photographers a lot to work with, because the contrast between the colours picks up the car’s lines. Close-ups of the lamps, the badge and the running board work well, and a wide shot of the car in front of the venue sets the scene.

Soft, overcast light flatters it. In harsh midday sun, chrome can flare, so ask your photographer to shoot from an angle that avoids reflections. If you want a particular spot, tell us and we’ll plan the timings.

Lych Gates, Low Branches and Narrow Lanes

It is an upright car, so low branches and low gates are worth mentioning when you book. Village lanes and church drives are usually fine. If it cannot reach the door, we will agree a meeting point in advance, not on the morning.
