A small wedding does not need a grand car. The Regent is an upright, polished landaulette with a rounded roof, bright chrome and a friendly, old-fashioned face, and it looks right outside a village church or a register office.
It seats up to six, which is enough for the couple and a few of the people closest to them, and it’s compact enough to reach places a larger car can’t.
The Regent is a landaulette, with a rear roof that folds back, so you can arrive in the open air without committing to a car that has no roof at all.
The shape is tall and upright, with a long running board and traditional lamps, and it carries a quiet charm that tends to win over older guests. Many remember cars like it, and younger guests enjoy the photographs.
A bigger car means more presence but also more fuss. The Regent suits couples who want a classic wedding car without the scale. It parks more easily, turns more readily and fits a small venue without making it look crowded.
It also suits budgets that are tighter than a Rolls Royce allows, while still giving you a chauffeur, a polished vintage car and a proper arrival.
We suggest agreeing a plan with your chauffeur before the day. If the forecast looks doubtful, the roof stays up and the cabin stays dry. If the weather turns while you are at the ceremony, the car can leave with the roof raised, and the photographs can happen under cover at the venue instead.
If you want a lighter, less formal car with an open feel, this is a good fit. If you would rather be sure of staying covered, tell us and we will talk through the alternatives.
Inside, the Regent seats up to six. The rear seat sits high and upright, with a good view of the road and plenty of headroom, so a veil, a hat or a tall hairstyle doesn’t brush the roof.
It’s a traditional cabin rather than a modern one, so don’t expect air conditioning or a screen. What you do get is a sense of occasion, and a seat that suits a full skirt better than most low saloons.
The Regent suits weddings with fewer guests and shorter journeys, such as a register office ceremony, a village church or a small garden venue. It doesn’t need much room to arrive, and it looks right whether you’re stepping out at a town hall or a country gate.
For a couple with a few close family members, six seats cover the essentials: the couple, parents or bridesmaids, and a witness or two. If you want a larger party in the same car, our Bramwith Landaulette seats seven, and for a big group a limousine suits better.
Cream or white paintwork against greenery looks soft and traditional, and the chrome picks up the light. A photographer will often shoot the couple beside the running board, or leaning on the open roof area.
Overcast days suit the car well, as the paintwork stays warm without glare. If you have a favourite spot, such as a churchyard gate or a village green, tell us the time and we’ll plan the arrival to match.
The Regent’s smaller size is a real advantage. Narrow village lanes, short church drives and small car parks rarely cause problems, and it can often reach the door when a longer car can’t.
Tell us the venue and we will confirm the drop-off before the day.
Send the date, the venue and how many are travelling, and we will tell you if the Regent is available and what it costs.
The Regent Landaulette can accommodate up to six passengers, subject to confirmation of the vehicle’s seating capacity. If you need space for a larger group, our Bramwith Landaulette may be a suitable alternative, with seating for up to seven passengers.
The Regent Landaulette features a distinctive folding rear roof, giving it the classic look associated with landaulette wedding cars. Please contact us to confirm the roof operation and available arrangements for your booking.
The roof can remain closed in wet weather to help keep you dry during your journey. Your chauffeur will aim to stop as close to the entrance as access allows, making your arrival as comfortable as possible.
The Regent Landaulette may be suitable for many wedding dresses, but the fit depends on the style and size of the dress. If you have a particularly full skirt or a long train, let us know when enquiring so we can discuss whether the car is suitable.
The Regent Landaulette has a different entry height and access arrangement from a modern saloon car. If an older guest or anyone with limited mobility will be travelling, please let us know in advance so we can discuss whether the vehicle is suitable for their needs.
The Regent Landaulette may also be suitable for anniversaries, vow renewals and photography sessions. Contact us with your plans to discuss availability and the arrangements for your chosen occasion.
